Severed foreigner's head found hanging from a bridge

The head of a man, believed to be a foreigner in his 40s, was found hanging from a rope at Rama IX Bridge in Phra Nakhon district yesterday. The head was apparently put in a plastic bag and hung from the bridge's railing.
When it was found at about 2pm, the plastic bag was detached from the head, revealing a gruesome sight. A doctor estimated the victim had been dead for at least eight hours.
Two sentences, "I want but I cannot …," and "I came to Bangkok to be you" were found written on the railing, said police chief Colonel Chavalit Prasobsilp.
He will wait for autopsy results before concluding how the head was severed from the body.
"We will check the security cameras at the bridge and see if anything related to the incident was captured," he said.
The media was requested to publish clear pictures of the victim's face to help police identify him.
"We need to urgently know who the victim was," he said.

Looks like he planned it out well - placed the rope around his neck, then he put a bag over his head and tied it down, and the loss of consciousness from asphyxiation made him fall over, and 'jump'. The length of the rope was such that his falling velocity ended up causing the decapitation: the body fell (kept a' going) and ended up in the water while the head stayed behind as a grizzly memento.

I guess this is the literal version of a foreigner losing his head over a Thai girl. Sad.
Perhaps if more people took advice from John Gruber, there wouldn't be so many unintelligible, blathering replies. (See above).

That was my guess at first, and it might still be a silly reason like that -- really depends what 'foreigner' means. Usually, I think, they use 'farang' for white western folks, and 'foreigner' for people of different regions - I suspect this may be a non-farang victim

What probably happened was he cut his head off when he was on Rama 8 then as he staggered around to hunt for a polybag to drop his head in he reached Rama 9.. Elementary, my dear W.
