Bangkok is making its presence felt as one of the most desirable place to live in various surveys and opinions. If only the Thai givernment will make it easier for people to retire there without unnecessary hassles.

and if you are not 50
A fake ID from Khao Sarn will sort that, plus a photo taken after a week of coming out of Love scene when the sun is shining, to make sure you look the part as well.

Personally, if I did have the funds & inclination to choose a retirement destination in Thailand, it would never be Bangkok. I'd much rather live in a remote mountain village in the vicinity of either Chiang Rai, or, Mae Hong Son.
QQs "Bangkok was good several decades back, but has now become far, far, too commercial, mercenary & polluted."
yep franchised vanilla stores like LA everywhere, one big traffic polluted concrete jungle ! and now anarchist Thaksin Reds terrorising property using diesel fuel and used rubber tires burning down buildings ! its environs are shot up ! stinks like klong piss and burnt rubber !
Bangkok is burning ! I'll never buy or sponsor property there ! let alone anymore in Thailand; selling off my two condos in Patts to the Ruskies and runnin ! Mob Rule is this countries wisdom/ purpose / direction ! a direction that will lead it people to communisim or militarism ! less freedom for all and more and more suppression ! just look at who it shares its political borders with and watch how it influences thoughts ! Mob Rule is its course !
Id rather settle down and retire in exotic Medellín, Columbia if I had to deal with Bangkoks Red BS everyday !
