That article, now being flacked by CNN, was little more than an advert for Zen, which is a minority Japanese sect formerly associated with the military caste.
Anyway, there are several meditation centers at Thai wats, but beware of some of the phonies such as Wat Thammagaya in Pathum Thani.
Thai Buddhism has nothing to do with Zen Buddhism. They are as disparate as Roman Catholics and Mormons.
