"Cela"? Pas du tout!

Cela is the last name of literature Nobel prize winner Camilo Ý- hmmm maybe that is how "frereloup" got confused

BTW, just to clarify further, the sentece means (literally) Ý"more it changes more it is the same thing". "c'est la" is the part that corresponds to "it is the" in the translation. "la" is the article and "est" is the verb.

H-S, je ne savais pas que tu parlais le franchute'

Oh no SMEG,

dont write something like that. Herman is awfully well red and well informed, you know.

Now we're gona get the life story of this Nobel Price winner, with a Ýliterary evaluation, if possible compared and contrasted to George Orwell.

LOL!!! ÝOh God!! ÝWell......

...at least even though it may be boring nowadays, I think most will agree that the forum is becoming the refuge place of literati like frereloup who are willing to impart us some free unrequested unwanted but always appreciated education. Maybe we should be grateful ...maybe...maybe? hmmm....

Walter,

I never accused you of being a communist, but you do read the Guardian.

Occasionally - I like the Steve Bell cartoons.
Have I got this one correct.?
It should be on TG's T-shirts?
Si jeunesse savait, si viellesse pouvait!
I think that is nearly correct but I am not sure about
the spelling of old?

I notice on this forum that the Europeans appear to have a very different sense of humour to the Americans?
Is this true and why ??
They don't seem to understand irony and double meaning? Everything taken literally as it is written??

Smeg -

"H-S, je ne savais pas que tu parlais le franchute' "

I don't, because I've forgotten most of it. ÝAnd Thai comes out in the middle, if I try to speak a sentence.

Just to be cruel, I assert that your sentence is not quite correct either...but I'm injuring braincells I can ill afford as it is...

Unless you're Quebecois, in which case, I know even less.

Now this thread is REALLY f_cked, Tabernac!

H-S, besides possible spelling -and the joking name I use for the language, I would stand by the sentence. I think I can guess what you may be thinking is wrong ..... but ....

BTW, yes it is. Very much so.

"I would stand by the sentence."

It's probably little comfort, and, believe me, I don't say this lightly, but I'll trust you on it.
