I don't think it was a survey per se because they did not go around asking all these people whether they are "happy" or not. They really just use some stats from all kind of official sources to back up their "theory" that health (#1), wealth (#2) and education (#3) bring people happiness. I feel they should include other criterion such as sexual freedom, leisure, weather and entertainment. If they did that, I am sure LOS will not be ranked #76.

Yes I think the satisfaction of being readily to get a good BJ is highly underrated in the survey. It was probably done by some Nazi feminist.
Well just yesterday while visiting my local 7-11 my bill came to 69 baht. The little cutie behind the counter said 69 baht sir followed by a naughty little snicker and by a devious little smile. Now where are happy moments like that measured in this survey.
As far as LY's Hierarchy of needs lacking the number one need of finding the bathroom after eating somtum which is definitely on the top of my list.

Sure they will say not happy.
Want more money.
But I have lived north and even in poverty they laugh and smile alot more.
Land in Sydney airport its crim faces, but sure they say "they are happy"
No ones telling the truth.
If the question is standard of living ? Then its all making sense.
