Perhaps I was harsh in suggesting Mr Alan meant that he deserved it. But there was still no need for that officious,boring,told you so,sort of post.
The guy was a great character and an Entertainer and will be missed.

It is very unfortunate, but at least he died doing what he loved and that is entertaining people at the risk of his life. I also seen a herpatologist on a snake show recently who died after being nipped in the finger from a snake a young boy gave him in a bag in Burma and when the snake was pulled out he saw it was a Krait.
BTW Baskoy after reading Mr A post over and over I still don't see the use of the word twat. Maybe I have to practice my English more

I agree with you that you were a bit harsh. I never said he deserved to be killed, I just said he repeatedly engaged in risky behavior with dangerous animals.
Here is a quote about some of his other risky behavior from the AP news service:
"Irwin had received some negative publicity in recent years. In January 2004, he stunned onlookers at the Australia Zoo reptile park by carrying his month-old son into a crocodile pen during a wildlife show. He tucked the infant under one arm while tossing the 13-foot reptile a piece of meat with the other."
Clearly Irwin was a "character" but that is not the kind of "entertainment" that I find enjoyable.

Reckless and inevitable, perhaps Mr. Alan, but it is still a tragedy. Anybody who has that much passion and daring about his profession and shares it with the rest of the world in an informative, educational, and yes, entertaining manner is o.k. in my view. For me, he removed some of the mystery and fear normally associated with the animal kingdom and I think he always knew the risks involved.
At the risk of seeming maudlin I say to all the Aussie brothers on the board, my condolences to the passing of one of your fellow countryman and great entertainers. I lift my mug with you StrayGypsy, cheers mate.

I was in a meeting at work today when the news broke he died, somewhat ironic, he worked with the most dangerous creatures in the world but died at the hand at one of the safest!!!! only 17 recorded deaths in history! RIP steve aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi

I doubt anyone would give him a life insurance policy
has someone stolen the real Baquawn's password or logged on as him on a True network ??
I would be more concerned with how his family is gonna get by now if he didn't have any insurance
I don't think his two year old child will be doing much to bring food to the table
it doesn't mention much about his family from what I've read, maybe he built a good nest egg for them before his shuffling off this mortal coil however
