There is no agreement on the number of victims on that day. Most put it around 100 students killed. One of the few official Thai document mentioning the event (it is usually not mentioned at all) put it at 46.

The pro-police and pro-government protest organisations are saying that they are not going to take another coup lying down. They say that they are preparing molotov cocktails and the like, and that, unlike the last one, there will be violence. I don't know how true this is. The feeling on the street is more or less the same as usual, certainly not threatening.
