What is the general feeling in Bangkok about the airport closure? Surely now the Pad Thai have made their point it's time for them to back off before they lose what support they have. Are there any further signs around Bangkok of yellow shirt support.? Maybe HM K should make a statement, all this uncertainty is setting his beloved country back years, businesses were suffering from the economic downturn without these extra problems.

Anyway it will be unpractical to enforce the overstay fee since there will be many overstays at the same time. "Unpractical" never stopped the Thai to enforce whatever stupid law they want to, ESPECIALLY if it involve getting money from farangs.... Madfrog

6.5 million? I am stuck here much longer... how much will my payout be? 10.8 million over 15 years... as soon as I get my check, I will start to do some charity work at the airport.

I arrived in Utapao last night. Took 4 hours to get luggage, no customs and complete chaos. Not sure how I'm getting home in a week, but I guess worse places to get stuck than here, lol. Police pulled out of checkpoints at BKK airport, no relief in sight. NEP and other areas look like a slow Tuesday during slow season.

Quote: from IBFarang on 11:53 am on Nov. 29, 2008 On the flip side I have heard a rumor that Elvis will make an annoucement and end this before the weekend is over - but I'll believe that when I see it
I knew he wasn’t dead! Hmmm announcement must be a new album release, or tour. I saw him last week behind a supermarket checkout in Intercourse Pennsylvannia. He’s put on another 80 pounds

I wish somebody would tell these pricks a grenade is not a Bomb!.... http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2008/11/30/politics/politics_30089774.php 45 injured in explosion inside Government House By The Nation A grenade was launched into the Government House compound minutes late Saturday night, injuring 45 people. The explosion occurred at 12:10 am Sunday when the protesters were preparing to rest and leaders of the People's Alliance for the Democracy were about to stop the activities on the stage. The bomb fell on the roof of a tent on the left side of the stage and fell onto the ground and exploded. PAD leaders said three of the protesters were seriously injured. The injured were rushed to Vajira and Ramathibody hospitals. The bomb, believed by the PAD to be an M79 grenade, exploded just 200 metres away from the PAD's main stage inside the Government House. It was fired outside the rally ground from a similar direction of the recent attack at the site. Two explosions were heard at ASTV station on Phra Arthit Road at 12:30 am Sunday morning, just around 20 minutes away from the attack at Government House. Witnesses also heard the gunfire lasting about 10 minutes. No injury was reported. TPE II

Supposed to be going to BKK Tue evening on ANA...but airline has only informed me they are cancelled at the moment, and only servicing 'charter' flights 'out' of Tuapao airport at the moment. Basically, they have an agreement for a few departures from Tuapao...but not flying anyone into the country. Considering bailing on this entirely and going to SIN instead.. or KL and try to catch an Air Aisa or JetStar flight up to Tuapao airport. Am I crazy?? Concerned about landing in SIN or KUL and then not being able to get to BKK....an NO, I am not into 12 hr bus rides or the train to Hat Yai etc. Thanks in advance. Johann8
