Oh interesting cosidering the topic? Did you know before Ecstasy was such a main stream drug it was used by some in the medical perfession as a treatment?
Mostly by psychologist and theripist under controlled conditions.
If used correctly it actually can have some usefull properties in the medical field.

Bill Hicks was a comic genius, and usually spot on with what he said.
Re your remark about my comment being naive I disagree. When a dealer gets busted other dealers start to get twitchy. Why did he get caught? Is there an undercover operation going on? Will the dealer start telling tales and naming names? Do the police know about my operation etc. This applies to his mates too, who are involved too. So people start being cautious and taking extra precautions and keeping out of the spotlight. Fingers are also pointed at others and there is a lot of distrust. Or they start a battle over who is going to replace them. This makes it harder for the users to buy (not impossible though, obviously), and so disruption has occured.
An established dealer will also have his operation running smoothly, he knows the places to go and stay away from, when to be out, who is dodgy etc. A new guy who tries to come in has to establish himself, know who to pay, who to front up to and tell to f*** off, where to store his stash and of course build his customer base up. This takes time and gives the police an opportunity to take him out before he is too established. During this time the operation is not running smoothly and so disruption has temporarily occured.
This does not apply to the lowest street dealers who are basically just runners and very indispensible. The dealer gives them some drugs and says go sell these at this location. They of course can be replaced by another naive wannabe gangster muppet pretty quickly. For a few days after the arrest though the street dealers are hidden and so disruption has occured.
This happened in areas of Manchester (Moss Side) in the 90's when users got used to just walking along certain streets and openly buying gear. Once a couple of dealers were taken out their tactics had to change and new locations found. It became a LOT harder to buy for a while, hence disruption.
Now to finish on another quote from Bill Hicks and one of my favourite
"Here is my final point. About drugs, about alcohol, about pornography and smoking and everything else. What business is it of yours what I do, read, buy, see, say, think, who I f***, what I take into my body - as long as I do not harm another human being on this planet?"
If only it was like that!!

Well yes you are all correct prescribed drugs can do a lot of good (I would be lost without them) and recreational drugs are taken by a huge amount of people who don’t suffer addiction or become total tossa’s or resort to crime to feed their habit. Alcohol and tobacco are certainly addictive and harmful and although I consume both I tend to avoid chain smokers and drunks.
But I have lived/worked with addicts I do maintain “drugs are bad” that’s my opinion not stopping anyone doing whatever they want with their own time, money, body.
The unfortunate thing in my humble opinion is that getting involved with drugs always ends up in a shitty mess and impacts on everyone around the user.
Quoting basher, “I didn't know he was a drug dealer at the time, if I had known I would of just walked away from him as association with these silly people tars you with the same brush over here".
So I avoid at all costs and I avoid people who indulge, I have tried certain substances years back and know that for me it is a fast track to no where.
So I maintain that (recreational) drugs are bad, the slope to addiction is too steep and I have seen it too many times for anyone to convince me otherwise.
Of course if you like to do it, “up to you”. Take the consequences.

Additionally, don't you find it is always the 'users' who firmly defend the use, they can't be wankers, as they are cool.....
I too used to partake of the 'scene' when I was younger, and on the whole it is populated with tossers like the twat in Phuket Prison.
It makes you lazy and untrustworthy, on the whole uncool, but try and tell a user that...

too true basher always users who defend, but always ex users saying how bad it is. A bit like ex smokers really.
the younger you start with any substance the worse it will f*** you up, I started drinking at 12
smoked waky bakky around 20 first, reached the conclusion it cuts drive, years go by and you do nothing. ok for a while but not a career.
guess what my tipple is now though you guessed it 
This drug war the thai think they will win, dream on. My darling wife ex mama san is all for it like a lot of them, thought nothing of selling gear to falangs before to make a bob or two though bloody hypocrsy.
the falang plays a dangerous game getting messed up with illegal things in los, if you agree or not.
good advice to stay away you never know what will happen, it goes on everyone knows, but the chance you get caught is it worth it.
But dealing.. must be mad,stupid or have coconut balls
Dont he know Farang cannot work in thailand when a thai can do the same work, they have their own dealers you know.
