Thanks BK for update...
We just recovred from our first snow storm here in the USA East Coast... I had no power for 2 days... freezing at night... very scary.. 2 million homes without power - mostly restored by now, including my home. We slept in the very cold night.. temp dropped at night to freezing and under.. this is no joke. Mother Nature is the power.... it reminded me the floods out of the last hurricane just few months ago... also no power... nothing compared to what New Orleans had been through.... Thailand now is in a similar situation like New Orleanes but with something that happens slowly (N.O. was fast... and combined with the winds so of course more danger). I do not want to be in the middle of a disaster area even if I am on dry land. Not to mention many thais working in downtown BKK but living outside of the center, got hurt by this (directly or family or relatives/friends). No sanuk in bangkok can happen when those Issan and other north east people lost everything....
Having said that, I beleieve from all I have read that after Mid Nov tourists can travel again. The economy will need to kick in again, and the hard working thais will rebuild and be out there to earn money to survive in full force.
