Most definitely NEP the stairs on the left by the pool-bar.
Couple of 'herberts' standing at the top pissed and pissing beer at people on the stairs. Scruffy, dirty looking types, you know sitting on the London streets with a can of Carlsberg Special Brew,"E-ar mate gote any spare change?" They got the 'evil-eye' from one character in a suit and the lesser pissed one dragged the other one(could have done with a wash)into the Cathouse. It could have turned nasty.

Always a pleasure to read your posts. Some bitch when their feathers get ruffled but as my boss says, it is hard to walk on water without spraying a little water around..lol
I have been visiting and working in Thailand for 24 years now. If the latest "crackdown" threat will drive the lowlife cretins to other shores, I am all for it. They give all farang a bad reputation. MY TG GF/fiancee is always surprised when I or my friends do not display the "farang behavior" they have come to expect and is so widely publicised from the idiots that come here and display little respect and make no attempt to really enjoy what Thailand is. Satisfying personal needs is normal and part of human nature but how you do it and how you affect others around you is the difference between the "hairy monkey" and men. As you brothers well know, a little respect and knowledge go a very long way in Thailand and can make the difference in the LOS experience seem like night and day.
I also spend little time in the go-gos. Maybe a night or two with friends there but not my preferred habitat. As you said, there is so much more to Thailand to enjoy. And to be truthful, sexual pleasures and appreciation of the wonderful Thai female body can be done much better than in the go-go environment. ANy of you that have taken a Tg GF from the bar and let her be herself and relax with you know what I talk about.
The prostitution is deeply rooted culturally and if one accepts it as part of the culture instead of the temporary throw-the-brain-away vacation thing, then it takes on a whole different look and feel (sorry, had put that in...)
I as a rule do not trust politicians. They as a lot are self-centered, power-motivated, and easily swayed by money/greed/etc. Thaskin has undertaken some brash challenges. Yeah, they are headline grabbers but isn't that what a person in that position is supposed to do. I expect a politician not to concentrate on the easy stuff - do your job and take on the tough ones. Some he will never solve or the one after him. We all known that. He has been effective, although the degree varies, which is normal to expect. He treads the political line of balancing his support base, party agendas, personal motivations, the emergence of Thailand into the light of the world market, economy and culture, and the general need of the Thai peoples, not a trivial thing at all. A hard thing to do and I would never want to be in his shoes, except when it comes to his bank account....
Thailand has been in my heart for a long time. I will retire and live there, learn the language, try every day to make my Thai wife happy, enjoy the Thai people, food, and culture and maybe in a small way contribute to their national will to be a good country. So many hear have complained of various aspects of the Thai culture but please remember, that it has attracted you, the women and their various charms and wiles have enthralled you, and once one visits Thailand, the memory, allure and call to come again remains.  Can any of you at your homes escape the memories of the soft sweet-smelling honey-brown skin, soft touch, and smiles? No friggin way gents....

Not sure what you meant by "work coats", but as soon as my kids are out of school, I am gone to the LOS.
Have thought about some teaching there. Teaching elementary kids has always been a thing I have wanted to do. Would stick with Isaan though as I am not really a city dweller type.
I volunteer for every opportunity to work in the LOS. I tell my coworkers it so hot and humid there. Stay away, you would not like it. I'll do my patriotic duty and go suffer working in the LOS..... lol They are catching on though...damn!

Ahhhh! lol Thanks. I guess I am not well versed in the vernacular.
Yeah, call me pussy whipped but I am monogamous with her. She is a "good TG" and we both are going throught the deeply rooted Thai racial issues of a Thai-farang marriage now. Her coworkers are the worst ones. Her family thinks we are great. She's a "keeper." We both have had full tests and all is good. We intend to keep it that way. My friends, sometimes that one special woman comes into our life and all others pale next to her. Wish me luck and happiness, as I would to any of you.

You seem to have a sugar coated idea of Thai culture.
There are many big problems in Thailand that can be directly attributed to Thai cultural practices.
I have no problem with you respecting a culture but you really need to look very carefully at what goes on in Thailand for all is not that rosy in the LOS.
I could start with the issue of face, institutionalised corruption , the mai pen rai attitude,the Thai way is the only way, xenophobic attitudes etc
Thai culture has it postives but there are many negatives as well.
There are usually more practical reasons for farangs moving to Thailand, cheaper cost of living, available pussy,weather, escape from their own cultural constraints etc
Please let us not paint Thailand as all roses because it most definitely ain't.
