Yeah, no long queues at the immigration, lots of taxis (do take a ride and see how dry it is all the way in) waiting for you.

I guess the whole concept of considering connected repercussions has never occurred to people in the government. Classic. RedShirt Govt: "Don't worry about tourism, we'll finish it off" Shopping for tickets now.

HO-LEE SHIT! I was just thinking the exact same. Everytime I learn something new about Thailand, it's like a new chapter in a comedy.

"The message we're trying to put across is that not all of Thailand has been flooded. Tourists can still use Suvarnabhumi to hop over to their favourite destinations such as Phuket and Chiang Mai, which are flood-free," he said. AoT is also trying to dispel the grave perceptions abroad that Suvarnabhumi is next in line to be flooded after Don Mueang airport was forced to close a week ago. "We're highly confident that our flood protection will prevent any halt to the operation of Suvarnabhumi," said Mr Somchai. He added that experts from Japan and Germany endorsed that statement after inspecting the flood protection barriers just days ago.
What the need is a massive PR campaign to send this message across the globe, right away.

Yes, way to go, a campaign saying "thailand is not flooded" when 1/3 of the country is underwater and all media are saying so... i can see TAT doing just that Next they can do a "Thailand has allway been a scam free country" campaign, followed by "Come enjoy the snowy mountains of Thailand" maybe? LOL

How about a picture of the flooded roads with the caption "Unseen in Thailand" under it? That should confuse people.

After all an official had the guts to say "there is no prostitution in pattaya" at a public meeting once, so after that one anything is OK I guess.

That's a gem. The funniest piece of face-saving deflection. See? BKK is not the only troubled spot. It has that typical ladyboy sense of humour to it.

Let's always keep in mind that the FROC took decisive action after they drowned at their HQ in Don Mueang - they appointed a new spokesperson.
