This is news, exactly, how? Every airport in the world charges for parking, and it was know Suwarnabhumik was going to as well.
This last bit appears to conflict with your stated agenda of making the airport look bad.

Does the new airport have any ATM machines? I never saw one at Don Muang.
I hate those money exchange booths. I can never figure out how badly I am getting screwed by them.

Yes, there are ATM's at the new Airport.
However if you did NOT see any ATM's at the old Airport then it is likely that you are going to miss the ones in the new Airport as well !!

You probably knew this already but one had to pay parking fees at the old Airport as well - practically the same as planned at the new.

The ATMs are only available before the immigration gates (at Don Muang) once you have past them, you are stuck with the damn Money Changers. I guess it's the same in Suvarnabhumi.

Actually there were ATMs in the Don Muang Arrivals hall after you left customs. They were at the far end near the connecting hallway to the next terminal.
In the new airport there was one by the front doors right after you worked your way through the Touts and people waiting for arrivals. I know this because I had to maneuver through the line waiting to use the machine to get to a travelator to the first floor

Nobody mentioned that the aircraft drop you off in Pattaya and you have to WALK back to Bangkok for Immigration!  Next time I'll take a taxi from the gate.
Looks like they forgot to pack the immigration cameras when they left DM.
Some luggage was coming through as I arrived at the carousel (about 10 minutes in Immigration queue), ten there was a looong hiatus (15min) before the rest arrived. About 50 minutes from gate to departure taxi area.
Got involved in a near-fatal pile up on those damned silly sloping escalators from arrivals to departures. A Thai guy with a fully loaded luggage trolley ahead of me with a few others between us, got stuck at the top of the first escalator, everybody piled into him, each one adding the effort to push the trolley free while frantically backpeddaling against the remorseless progress of the escalator until those behind caught up and forced them into the fray. Eventually there was enough biomass and luggage to push the first trolley free but there were flip-flops and limbs everywhere and it was a bit hairy for a moment.
No problem (6am arrival) getting a 200THB taxi-meter from the departures level. About 70THB of tolls.
I didn't study the maps before arriving, so was caught out when the taxi arrived at the same off ramp (with traffic) as arriving from DM (the Ploen Chit junction). If I had realized in time I would have guided the driver to the Nana back route.
Apart from near-death-by-escalator, and the hike from the gate to Immigration, pretty smooth transit.
