I'm amazed to see this isnt a particularly important subject of discussion for you guys.
At it's most basic, it abolishes Border runs (and I know several senior members here do them regularly), and the Investment Visa option.
That leaves marriage, retirement or Non Immi B visas for everyone else?
Are people really not that bothered?

Perhaps the long timers here don't care too much because either - the new ruling only applies to VOA, so get a visa before you travel and there is no problem, or - because they know that this is Thailand, and the new rules will stick for about as long as it takes to pull a BG...

this is all very simple guys
if you want to stay on as a bloody tourist just :
go to Vienjun, Laos to the Thai Consulate there and apply for a 60-day visa
this one can be extended for 30 more days in-country
or do the same in Penang Malaysia
it's just 3 VOAs that they draw the line on
if you get a visa the proper way, at an Embassy or Consulate, it's fine to come and go as many times as you please

This should be interesting to see what happens to certain VISA runners from BTF. Sounds like a good house cleaning.
