Actually a series of convulsions and a pair of metal tongs are what got me going into this free-fall. Before I knew it, my last link was snipped off....
I don't know about you, but I've always had acrophobia (fear of heights), and so I imagine that I was happy where I was. But I can't do a cotton picking thing about that now.
Anyway, things got better as I got stronger. I learned to walk and talk and get into all sorts of trouble for my good feelings. I had to wait years before I realized there were all these other little passages to get into that were a reasonable facsimile of bliss. I made friends. I could begin and end all kinds of inventions and undertakings. I have no intention of calling it off early. The natural feeling of being alive is wonderful. Those suicidal maniacs have to take a step back and look at how they're clouding up the picture. Sober up. Take a few jogs around the block. Start a new hobby altogether. Stop building cages and start taking them apart.
Plenty of ways to get killed and maimed already on this world---why would you have to think of doing it yourself?

Seajohn, you have a fine way with words. Some men get into a self-extinguishing depression precisely because they find they are no more able to get into these passages because of the ravages of time on their stamina. Many of us sink into a rut because we are no more what we were even as we discover a plethora of passages that are just asking to be slithered into.
Men need to remember that LOS offers so many alternatives to finding your own private pleasures that need not tie in with the majority or the customary. We need to break free from our own selves.

Thanks, Kaymanx. I like what you've said here. Yes. More often than not, it's our own habitual concepts of ourselves that hogtie us. It being inside our heads, probably covered in emotional scar tissue--That makes the slavery to these patterns so hard to become aware of, and so harder to tear open.
It seems like for many men, coming to LOS is indeed like opening an old wound. All kinds of pent up expression explode out. Immediately the personality changes into strange unsupportable tangents. They collapse at some point, and often take the man with them.
Since, as you say, life seems to require such a combination of strength and intelligence, we have to continue exercises.

53-year-old American tourist plunge from 25th floor of Pattaya condo

An American tourist fell from his room on the 25th floor of a Pattaya condominium late Sunday night and was killed in an apparent suicide, police said.
Police said Philip Joseph Queen, 53, apparently jumped from the balcony of his room on the Pattaya Beach Condominium at 10 minutes after midnight.
Police said they found a suicide letter on his body.
