BKK is quiet right now, but that could change at any time. Traffic sometimes as bad as usual, other times very light. BTS seems crowded like normal.
I can get a good seat at any of the major go-gos at almost any time. Almost never crowded. Finances of many girls hurting (its up to you if you want to try and take advantage of this).

Makes sense. Here in Chiang Mai, the police have suddenly been seen checking vehicles with many roadblocks.
I imagine it wasn't because of two Tomboys killing each other over a girl outside Chiang Mai's Spicey last night.

One of the Local Papers “Hot Line” went under. No Issue to be printed for three or more months. Not enough revenue to pay cost of printing.
Bars sell Leo beer at 55 Baht or three for 110.. Many Taylor shops closed and a few bars behind in paying for Beer. Times are Hard here in Hua Hin..
Hotels, during the week, at 30 percent or less of rooms filed.

Far too many rumors, most amounting to nothing, sources tend to be 'friend of a friend who knows 'someone', so typical of expats in Thailand, each thinking their 'special' police/army/government contact to be linked into such high level knowledge bases !
Its why I asked TL for some links to the warnings he's seen on some embassy websites, so further investigation can be done.
Australia has been VERY quick to heighten travel warnings for Thailand over the last 2yrs, if there was a genuinely new threat I feel they would have upgraded their advice, but they haven't.

Red-shirts gathering at Ratchaprasong

A large number of red-shirts had started to gather at Ratchaprasong intersection late this afternoon, causing traffic congestion on all nearby roads, reports said.
The United front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) has scheduled a mass rally of red-shirts at the intersection late this afternoon in remembrance of the victims of the lethal military crackdown that ended their prolonged protest six months ago, on May 19.
Scattered groups of red-shirts gathered at the intersection near the CentralWorld shopping centre, in front of Gaysorn Plaza and a McDonald's outlet at Amarin Plaza. CentralWorld mall only recently reopened after being set ablaze as the protesters were dispersed on May 19.
Several companies of police were deployed at Ratchaprasong intersection and nearby areas to ensure law and order.
