I didn't read your original post, but nobody's talking about a conspiracy, as least not in a grand conspiracy sense of the word (thought there is obviously lots of back room dealings and politicking behind the scenes going on).
It is more that there are some things that it is just not done to talk about in Thailand, both socially as much of a faux pas as to, say, bring up the possibility that US foreign policy was in some way responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York around September would be (I'm not suggesting it was or it wasn't, just saying: even if it were, you wouldn't bring it up there, or then, would you?). And, more than just a faux pas that almost all Thais would not forgive you for, it is also against the law to do so.
And yet these things are so much at the centre of Thai political life that to not discuss them both leaves any analysis of what is going on confusingly incomplete; and also allows groups to imply stuff that other groups are unable to rebutt. Right now, it is mainly the PAD which is implying stuff.
Anyway, that is as much as I am willing to say about this on a public forum. I hope I'm not being too opaque, and imagine that you probably know what I am talking about, if not everything I have already written.
(And I'm not trying to imply that, off of a public forum, I could really explain what is going on - I don't understand much about it, to be honest, and nor do many people I know who really follow it closely: in private, I'd just name the un nameable, that is all!)

PAD vows to fight off police crackdowns
Suriyasai Katasila, a leading member of the People's Alliance for Democracy, announced Thursday evening that the PAD-led protesters would fight off police if they are deployed to crack down on the protesters at the Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports.
"If the government wants to clear the protesters, let it try. The PAD will protect all locations because we are using our rights to demonstrate peacefully without causing damages to state properties or rioting," Suriyasai said.

It is actually comical that Tourists are still hanging out at the airport, or showing up to see if they can get a flight.
Go rent a hotel, and enjoy yourself while you are still in BKK. Watch the news for reports of the place opening again.
I would have walked a few miles away from there, and got back to the city rather then sleep in an airport.
Tomorrow PAD is finally going to get their clapper asses kicked. Bring on the CS gas and Rodney King ass beating sticks!
