People who accuse are often the most guilty themselves! Psychological projection? "Do as I say not what I do!"

Busy week in Naughtyville, huh? "Chinese tourists fight back as police raid sex show in North Pattaya" is a classic.

JR I was in Polo on Friday night and whilst they had tamed their show down a little they were still doing things they shouldn't have. All the girls were flashing and one particularly brazen hussy was showing and demanding 100baht a lick and there were takers. So it was not as hot as before but they were certainly breaking the current crackdown laws. Twas a good night all in all

Hello all I think that Chinese artical was great. Proves that the farangs or westerns are not the only ones that want a little action in the Go gos. I for one don't really care if the shows go or stay and the BJs in the bar is not something I like either but accept it Whats it going to help maybe nothing but sure makes it better then takeing all the blame for it. I hope the nude dancing stays and I think it could if the luwd shows and sex in the Bar was out of the public eye

ALL MASSAGE PARLOURS TO BE SEX FREE Police Chief Sant Sarutanond intends to make all massage parlours stop offering sexual services. His ideas include-- undercover police officers are to visit premises
- fees standardised to avoid any charging for sexual services.

"We need a better social order. We don't want to be a place where tourists who want just massage are handed a Bt3,000 bill and wonder what on earth is going on. The sex services are an embarrassment to our country, our image and our culture." What's the problem? You pay up front and you can always refuse the sex.

The most interesting thing about the Nation article was to see Sant being flatly contradicted by the Deputy Commerce Minister among others. If they actually did try to abolish sex at 'massage parlours', they would probably spark a revolution. This is the average Thai guy's favourite P4P venue. If there's any problem at all, it's the (slight) confusion between glorified brothels and genuine massage parlours - complicated by the fact that many TTM places also offer sexual services. If they required the former to find a new euphemism, I don't think it would be the end of the world. A lot of the alarmism is silly. Prostitution has been deeply embedded in Thai culture for centuries and is not going away. There are obvious reasons for the current (actually rather minor) fuss about appearances - Chuwit and APEC - and soon those reasons will disappear. That said, there are rather deeper-rooted Thai irritations about the more objectionable sides of sex tourism - not least, the rather too many badly-behaved foreign slobs littering the capital and the primarily 'straight' resorts. I don't think anyone cares too much about what goes on in Pattaya. Anywhere else in LOS, you might want to tidy up your act a bit and stop pissing in your own playground. If not, don't be surprised if Thai frustrations come to the fore from time to time. Ý Ý Ý
