Sorry for the double post, but being Thailand reminds me of the Kings birthday when I was last there..... no beer is allowed.............. ok
On Jointemen beach (sorry for spelling) they were selling beer in bottles with labels ripped off.............. and several bars were serving.
I cant see how they are going to enforce this other than in the highly public places like NEP and Soi Cowboy........

Would this 9:00 pm to midnight regulation effect Soi Cowboy? The whole thing is just wrong. A few years ago in New York, they passed these lousy zoning laws and it destroyed the whole entertainment scene.

Hi, any idea's what will happen with Soi Cowboy and NEP ? open till 2 or 12 ? Or will it only be Petburi and Ratchada that caters mostly to the locals? Patpong frankly I don't care what happens to that, its lost its attraction a long time ago with all the scams. Any info on this?

Soi Cowboy and nana plaza are not in the entertainment zones and therefore bars will be restricted to 3 hours opening (9pm until midnight)
Patpong is an entertainment zone and its bars can open for longer..either 9pm until 2am (if bar with hostesses?) or 6pm until 1am (if pub, discotheque or karaoke).
I believe that the TRT party based their zoning idea on the 'success'?? of the New York zoning laws.

If "success" is defined as everything shuting down and never coming back, yes. In its place, New York replaced them with a few McDonalds, souvenir shops, and most of them are still empty. Maybe the entertainment vendors in Thailand will take action against the government for constitutional rights. It could hold off these lousy hours for a few months.

Well I can't see NEP and Soi Cowboy surving on 3 hours a night................ looks like in 6 months its RIP.............
At least I got a chance to go there and do that before hand..... maybe its time to setlle down with a now out of work BG, as there will soon be loads to choose from.

as you know Pattaya closes at 2am anyway!!! yeah right, so my guess is most bars will probably do the same as always, ignore the rules, bung the men in brown and get the odd closure every now and again.
well I hope so anyway, I am worried about watching the footie when its a 8pm kick off in UK.
anyone up for renting a mega size villa and having private parties by the pool, b/fing loads of bg's etc or can "they" stop this too?

Prices will drop further in towns like pattaya, that dont have the infra structures to water off the multitudes of girls pouring onto the streets. The scence I predict will stay in a less observed sense of law/unofficially ofcourse. The midnight thing will drag out to 1245 am. The bar fines drop to clear the numbers. drinks increase in price, and selection better as the sub standards will head to the streets. Farangs will better be placed to bring in girls at hotels two at a time as they too will need to review proceedures and protocol, as numbers drop sharply in occapancy. Day time go gos will flourish, and blow job bars offer better looking girls. Escort agencies will spring up, and many girls will free lance outside the entrances to fast food chains hotels, and shops......all in all theres 30,000 plus hookers looking for a farang fix.....shorter hours will just turn pattaya into a wilder place than it already is...dg
