Planning to fly to Bangkok from Hong Kong on May 1st (May Day, appropriate, huh?). Any truth that visitors entering from Hong Kong, even if no one on the flight displays SARS symptoms, are to be quarantined for 10 days at their hotel? I find this a bit hard to believe, but who knows? This SARS thing is getting just plain old ridiculous. Please, anyone who can affirm or, hopefully, refute this, reply quickly. Thanks.

Here is some information from the UK FO, which may help, but doesn't directly answer your question:- The Thai authorities have launched a high profile SARs awareness campaign and issued instructions for travellers to and from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam. In brief: this advices no travel to affected areas: requires Thai residents returning from affected areas to stay away from work for 10 days; urges visitors from affected areas to wear face masks for the same period while in Thailand; requires arrivals from affected areas who show symptoms of SARS to be tested and, if necessary, quarantined at points of entry. In line with advice from the Department of Health, which is based on information from the WHO, no restrictions on travel to Thailand are currently being recommended. The WHO and Department of Health are monitoring the situation closely. You should check their advice regularly.

Thanks ADY. Looks like I'm going to be O.K., unless, of course, the bloke sitting next to me is shivering and coughing his head off, lol. Thanks partner.
