Sure, I have experienced it myself. These results would surely apply to the practice of Yoga as well. Two years of consistent practice had me lit up.

Agree with you skip. I look after my Daughters Chinese garden , has a small shrine and a meditation stone hidden in the bushes by a pond. I can sit here in the morning and just go. I often wonder why we see no road rage in thailand

The myth that Buddhism is and always has been free from sectarian violence and warfare is pervasive but untrue. In Sri Lanka the Buddhist Sinhalese fight with the Hindu Tamil. And Sri Lankan Buddhism is as close to Thai Buddhism as it gets. Historically, the Buddhist monasteries in China and Japan have maintained armies of warrior-monks, developed entire schools of armed and unarmed combat and fought with warlords and central governments over centuries. And let me point out that I choose to live in a Buddhist country and am a fervent admirer of Buddhism, but let's just have a little reality check here.

Now you know peterpan. Please forgive the silliness in between posts. I know where you are coming from while in that garden. And as for my self, well I'm hoping a summer's long journey thru the heart of LOS will inspire me to find a new equilibrium between the two. Dunno if it'll be tantric, yogic or some as yet unknown but I go forth (w/fear purged) eyes wide open... ~ Namaste brother ~

No road rage in Thailand? Maybe less road rage but certainly not none at all. And I don't mean farang. I remember several cases of military officers getting into pistol fights with traffic cops. I remember a former business partner who an 18-wheeler tried to force off a mountain road in his Jaguar -- the truck got sprayed from a silenced 9mm Uzi, and desisted...same fellow's brother once let off a .357 Magnum at some other driver who offended him, and that was directly in front of the police box at the mouth of Soi Pavana, Ladprao Rd. in broad daylight. How about the Major General nicknamed Seh Daeng, who pistol whipped the airport security chief at Don Muang for asking him not to park by the VIP entrance?

Agreed Sauron, and I vividly remember several battles amongst warring factions of Korean monks. But, and with all due respect, Sauron this article and thread refer to a very personal and entirely inward journey of mind and spirit.

The article, perhaps, but I was responding to the erroneous assertion by invaderzim (see above). (Namaste is a Nepalese greeting, around here we say Sawasdi.)
