Does anyone know anymore about this. I understand Takshin recently declared that the 31/12 would not be a public holiday this year because there had been too many already (with the Apec thing etc.) This seems to have really p****d off a number of thais I know, who since they work in the private sector didnt benefit much from the extra Apec related holidays (and they are firm TRT supporters). Is this likely to happen, especially given the importance of Dec 31st as a family day? Would appreciate a heads up from anyone who knows any more about this.

Nothing on this that I can find in The Nation or Bangkok Post. Perhaps either your Thai friends have it wrong, or you leg has been well and truly pulled.
