Well boys & girls. Today the traffic cops all over Bangkok had abandoned the preprogrammed sequence & duration for Bangkok Traffic lights. The observant will notice that surface streets are completely chuck a bluck. Their ad hoc experiment created unmitigated chaos.
Funny that this occurs just a couple of days after the giovernment raised the price of diesel by 20%. This has not deterred one single soul to leave his pick-up at home & jump on Skytrain.
Personally I favor UK style gasoline prices, a socialist disincentive aimed at reducing numbers of cars on the road.
Won't be long till you hear a chorus of people advocating a Singapore style scheme to make cars pay a surcharge to enter the "Zone".

Unfortunately the reason why the UK fuel prices are so high is not because the UK government wants to be green and stop pollution in the UK’s great countryside and city’s but because they are greedy gits and want to rape the wallets of the good working citizens of the UK.
Also it is not only in Singapore that there is a zone charge this was brought into London not so long back. To travel into London costs 5 pounds last time I was there but as a brummie the further away from London I am the better
To get a taxi from LHR airport to London city centre and back again cost me 5 years ago 100 pounds
Quote:and it won't be long before you'll have to sell those rice burner's you ride! I hear a wisper that in the furture that all two strokes are going to be outed? what a good idea. that will clean the air up a wittle!
If that day ever comes - & I doubt it, I will buy a Ninja 600 & pollute even more than I do now.
