Why did Phuket Air have to refuel in the UAE as many airlines are able to fly direct?

If it did need to refuel, I am shore they did not need to completely fill the tanks, even if fuel is cheaper there the cost of flying around the extra fuel could not be beneficial.

Given the circumstances of this airline only a fool would pay for a ticket in advance as they must be going “tit’s-up”.

If you have paper tickets the airline you are flying on will honor them and if they don't, tell them BigDUSA said they should.

i heard phucket air are also cutting back on safety and servicing,

however I do know that if a plane flies into the uk it don't leave unless it passes all the safety requirements.

moreover in singapore they are far more fussy than all, considering they have the most expensive landing fees.

maybe it is because phuket air uses 747-200 or 747-300s on the route and they have flying range of 9 hours only...

am not a plane expert but think u wont reach uk with those planes..

I'm a bit of a plane buff & work for an airline. A 747-300 definitely has the range for Gatwick-BKK in a single hop. I'm sure the only Phukey Air 747 I've seen at BKK was a 200. One bivarre explanation might be they were topping up with cheaper fuel.

Phuket air to ams was stranded in bkk last week due to the plane not being technically fit to fly to ams. As far as I know they are not totally barred from flying to ams but have been warned like some turkish airlines.

i wont fly with them, china airlines are cheap enough.
