More details about the earthquakes ______________________________
Earthquakes measuring 3.3 and 3.0 on the Richter Scale were recorded in 2 Northern provinces yesterday ( Sunday 5 June 2005 ).
The tremors caused panic but no damage was reported.
"People felt the tremor and panicked", Adisorn Fungkajom, who heads a seismic station in the North, said. He added that these were just small earthquakes and therefore unlikely to cause any damage.
Meteorologist Vorapoj Kunawiwattanakura said the 3.3 quake occurred at about 6.02 a.m. in Uttaradit's Thong Saen Khan district, followed by the 3.0 quake in Lamphun's Li and Lampang's Thoen district about 3 hours lated.
