BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Female inmates in Thailand's prisons are so short of
underwear that the head of the main women's prison appealed to the public for
donations - new or recycled.
The director of the Central Women's Prison, Ankhanueng Lebnak, said Friday that
the government refuses to provide a budget to buy each female prisoner more than
two pairs of underpants each year because they are considered a luxury item, the
official Thai News Agency reported.

They're a bit funny about gaijin buying them. (They can be very good if you get them warm and fresh in Shibuya -- the Japanese ones, not the Thai.)

Seriously, I gave some thought to collecting the cast-offs of my wives & daughters.
Without denigrating my girls, I think they would be too big for the TG's little bums.
I sometimes take over decent used clothes for donation etc. on tours & they are well received. If you can find people who can use the stuff, it's usually no hassle to bring a bag or two on the way in.
So, amexpat how do we donate underwear?

Certainly it was something, if true, that could have been addressed in a better manner. Cash contributions via a real charity to provide new clothing perhaps.
