Canadian killed in robbery in Bangkok condo

A Canadian man was shot dead and three compatriots injured in a robbery last night in their condominium off Sukhumvit Soi 18.
The lone robber climbed into the room on 10th floor of City Smart Condominium while the four Canadians, including victim Mark Jay Keffer, 42, and a number of foreign guests were celebrating Christmas.
The robber, apparently a Thai man, asked them to hand over their valuables at gunpoint.
He started shooting when a woman guest, a relative of room owner Norzachray Nordin, a Bruneian, hit him with her handbag. Keffer and all three injured people were later sent to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Thong Lor police station duty inspector Pol Maj Saravuth Dejsri said he suspected the robber, who had easy access to the room from a communal area, could have been tipped off about the party by people working or residing at the condo.

Agreed... since for all practical reasons, SHE is the one who killed that man with her hysterical reaction.
Seems everyone got some bullets in the ensuing melée.
Sad, and unfortunate outcome.

Yup, wrong course of action. If this guy really wanted to kill his victims he would have done it first, they could all be alive most likely.
It serves as a reminder that Thailand isn't necessarilly more safe than say the PI or Cambodia. In fact more affluent westerners live/work in Thailand and make tempting targets.

Very sorry to hear that a Canada man was killled in BKK,as Canadian soldiers are doing a remarkable job for NATO in the Afgan Hills and no one seems to know about it.
H.M. The Queen sent a sent a special Christmas message to the British Armed Forces, which was most appropriate. What did she say to the Commonwealth troops? Nothing. And yet she is supposed to the Queen of Australia and Canada.

I'm suprised that more farangs aren't targetted as walking cashflow or am I just not hearing much about it?
I do read of Thais killed for a mobile or a small gold chain, hell's teeth, most of us get thru that on a good saturday night!

I personally get a kick out of the minnows like the Canadians, Australians & Kiwi's who aren't up there in the headlines, but behind the scenes wreak havoc in the dustbowls of Afghanistan/Pakistan
They're the one's doing the damage while the moron Western press machine hang around & nit-pick the USA/UK troops
