Thailand is the world's best tourist country

Thailand has been named the world's best tourist country by a Norwegian travel magazine for the fourth consecutive year.
At the Norwegian Grand Travel Awards 2007 held in Oslo, Thailand was voted for by more than 300 travel companies. Greece, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Brazil, the US, France, the UK and Sweden followed in the top 10.
Travel News has organised the awards for 12 years and gives out 17 awards each year.
National carrier Thai Airways was voted best international airline.
Thailand is one of the most popular destinations for Scandinavians.
Separately, Thailand is also considered one of the top 10 value-for-money destinations, according to the Country Brand Index 2006 published by the Chicago Tribune.

For vacations the US has Vegas, Miami Beach, Hawaii, Vail/Aspen. And you have only visited Hong Kong in China which is basically a british, not really China.

PussyLover 69 the key here is that the awards are made by a Norwegian Mag. which indicates marginal coverage at best.
As indicated by others, Asia is very popular relative to locations like Denmark. Who goes to Denmark?
Also don't forget, some reflection on the amounts of money in advertising received by the said magazine and the budgets of travellors also comes into effect.
Guess it works out in the end that if you have the money, where would you first want to travel to? Money has limited value, time does not.

The only problem with Thailand is, it's half a world away.
I would like to know what the other top 10 countries are.
Canada is a nice place to visit. Nice people, really safe and quite clean.
The USA has some nice places, Yellowstone, Yosemite, the big ditch, the 4 corners area and most of the state of Utah. Other than that Las Vegas aka Lost Wages is the only other place worth a visit but keep your money in your pocket.
There is no place south of the lower 48 worth a visit, too dangerous any more.
Greece and Spain were always nice, I loved Germany, especially the Rhine River valley. Holland, Belguim and the northern countries were also very nice.
Japan was safe and the people very nice, just dirty.
China, don't think so, too dirty.
Cambodia is quite nice, but it's the dirtiest place I've been too. Trash every where.
