Real courageous, those Reds -- bombing a bus stop. They are just demonstrating: - they are no better than muslim bombers. - it's a good thing the Emergency Decree is left in place.

... wait until November... rumors are circulating that the Reds will re-engage (just in time for tourist season... how timely). ... how peaceful that will be is not really up to the broader movement (who seem to want a peaceful demonstration of their grievances), but in the hands of a militant minority who are spoiling to destabilize the government (thank you, Toxin, you wretched f*** you!). ... while Thais are overwhelmingly covering their eyes and hoping the big bad boogie man goes away (it's what Thais are raised to do when faced with problems), no farang above the age of 13 who lives here believes this is over... far from it.

Of course it's far from over -- it will be over when Thaksin joins Seh Daeng. If anything, the hit on Seh Daeng was a precursor for what is to come for Thaksin. ...and it's not coming from Abhisit's government, when it does happen. It will come from amongst the Red's on ranks. Once that happens, peace and stability and reconciliation will have a chance.

Daffy,at this early stage it is premature to blame the Red Shirts.Certainly they have not yet claimed responsibility. It just might be the southern Muslim insurgency deciding to target Bangkok.

You're reaching, at best. The PT reps, vehemently denying any responsibility, is enough proof for me.

While it is true that there are multiple factions -- and particularly a militant faction that was formerly led and directed by that aerobics instructor, Seh Daeng -- the militant factions do still identify themselves as Red Shirts and make no secret out of their desire for violence and destruction. Plus, the use of grenades for explosives is a favorite tool of Seh Daeng's thugs, as is known. I'd be very surprised if the Bangkok Mormons, or the Southern Extremists take responsibility for the bombing.

Daffy, Have you ever heard any organization claiming for responsibility in bombings in Thailand, in BKK or in the south? Never... As RTB said, it is really stoopid to jump into (too) easy conclusion like this. Plenty of Yellow/PAD supports have easy access to grenades + have plenty of good reasons not to have the Emergency Decree lifted. Strategically it would not make any sense for the Reds to re-start to bomb BKK at this time.
