Top cop orders blitz on drugs

The national police chief has ordered 1,400 police stations nationwide to submit a list of drug addicts and minor dealers in their precincts within 15 days and then begin a crackdown on them.
The move came in response to Her Majesty the Queen's concerns in her birthday speech last week about the drug problem.
Addressing 300 senior police from across the country yesterday, Pol Gen Wichean Potephosree said police had not carried out any extra-judicial killings of drug suspects in the past, and none would occur now.
Metropolitan Police Bureau spokesman Piya Uthayo said city police planned to carry out tough crackdowns on drug problems in Bangkok from today.
The crackdowns would begin in three police divisions in the city which had the most serious drug problems, judging by the number of complaints they had received, said Pol Maj Gen Piya.
The crackdown was announced as police yesterday raided a house in Sungai Kolok district of Narathiwat, seizing more than 20,000 methamphetamine pills with an estimated street value of 1.2 million baht. They also detained a man and a woman for questioning.
Public Health Minister Witthaya Buranasiri, meanwhile, said the ministry was considering regrouping all three formulae of cold relief medicines now sold over the counter as "specially controlled" drugs.
The drug regrouping, which takes effect next month, is aimed at curbing the abuse of pseudoephedrine, an ingredient in cold relief drugs which can also be used to make methamphetamine.

Jaba and ice are shit the bottom end of drugs the problem is the harder they follow usa tactics and the hard line the worse things and the drugs get.
I take great offence when drugs are heaped on a pile alcohol is also a drug. Im a recreational user 30 yrs no problem have a managerial position sometimes I use alcohol recreationally as well.
Whether its long over due or not I feel sorry for these people in my country I have quality drugs without having to be scared of the police and I dont miss them when in thailand I just use the drug alcohol [probably sometimes more than recreationally ].
This problem got out of hand when they started to eradicate opium how naieve can you be. It does no go away other worse drugs turn up look at usa with coke and then crystel meth my god is the world thick or what.
Better to have some good quality drugs and help those that cannot handle. Would save $$$ and lives but the world is thick or at least very stupid.
Thailand land of freedom [not].Unless allowing your kids of 6 out at 3 am selling chewing gum to drunken falang or drunk on motorbike without a helmet is considered freedom then they got their head up their arses.

But killing many innocents is abit too tough in 2003 over 2500 died in those style executions by police

What gets me is that they only go after users and small time dealers. Everyone knows small time dealers deal to support their own habit so they need help not being shot or put in jail but to get help.
Who are the big time dealers that are left alone anyway the police themselves?
Yes its horrible I was here then what a way to think to solve a problem. This is directed directly at the poor the UN will have something to say about it but we all know they are a toothless animal.
