House secretary-general Pithoon Poomhiran says the lewd video display seriously tarnished the image of parliament. He is correct in that it exposed it to ridicule. But, in apportioning blame, no one should overlook the fact that MPs themselves have brought the institution into disrepute on many occasions.These have included a physical assault by one MP on another, accusations of drunkenness in the House and a small fortune squandered on overseas "study" trips during the recent recession.
