Thai police are hunting for two men who stabbed an Australian woman to death in a botched bag snatch on the holiday island of Phuket last night.
The female travel agent was trying to grip onto her bag when the men drove past on a motorbike and stabbed her in the heart about 10.30pm, the Herald Sun reports.
The killers left empty-handed and the woman, who was walking with a group of 10 travel agents, did not realise she had been stabbed until the men drove away.

Another woman was also slashed on the arm and she later recounted events to police.
"We were walking single-file along the road, coming back from dinner. These guys had gone past a couple of times and that started to bother us," she told police.
"Then I heard a noise behind me and I turned to see what I thought was my friend being pushed in the chest. I tried to help her."
The woman died on the road outside the five-star Katathani Beach Resort, where the travel agents were staying.
Low-quality security camera footage captured the men on the motorcycle but the number plate could not be read.
Australian embassy officials are in the process of contacting the woman's family in Australia.

In 2004, in Pattaya my girlfriend and I were faced at 4am with a knife wielding Thai man.....
An English skin head saved the day throwing a full bottle of Chang ( from I not kid 15 feet ) hitting the man in the head and seriously injuring him......he then started kicking the guy with boots and romper stompering him..... ( heavy jumping up and down ) the Thai girlfriends his and mine joined in the kicking....both viciously attacking his face with nails and high heels....one frantically looked for a rock or stick
I had to stop it and plead for the thieves life.....the guy was being beaten worse than a Rodney King
I paid him for the Chang ( the super agressive drunk skinhead ) and a few more.....I have liked soccer hooligans ever since....but wouldn't want to be on the receiving end

... high profile murder of Aussie travel agent... threatens the parade of wallets upon which Phuket tourist industry (and police) prey... THB 300,000 reward is posted.
... incredibly, two hapless young suspects apprehended in four days... followed the next day by confessions, purp walk and crime re-enactment for the media... Royal Thai Police share in the reward, case is closed and everyone goes to the bar to celebrate yet another brilliant piece of Thai police work.
... many farang here are doubtful.

not really on topic, but whatever.
I have a great story about me and the Phuket police when I lived in Nai Harn, Phuket.
I posted years ago, but it's really good and involved a minor car accident, 18K baht pay off and a ride to the ATM on the back of the cops motor bike...its one of my funniest/ironic life stories

Magnum, you don't own up to murdering a Farang woman unless you want to avoid the cat food mincer....
These guys choose a fast death
Thais wanted it closed....the driver will get 65 years and get out in 14 after sufficient funds.
The family in Oz would have paid to neck him meantime. ( he knows that )...so it's death.
The stabber will be dead before trial or get death penalty
You confess in Thailand or its horrible in some vacant paddock with shuffles and spades and cruel nasty cops on whiskey.
I remember my brother heading to the Krabi cells after the cops caught a guy who king hit him, and robbed him....he was a Muslim....
To this day my brother didn't say what he paid the cops to dig him up or what happened to the guy.
But suffice to say money is God.
Even key stone cops get their man sometimes Magnum
Whether they did is is illrelevant it's Thailand they have guys that would own up to 9/11.
I have been in cells only to have my brother show with 20,000 Thai baht and an extra hooker for Me, after asking how much more to stun gun me ?
It's law...pay you walk.
