Hey some hasto tell the emperor that he is not wearig any clothes.
TO anyone who replies UTFSE they must have not used it themselves.
Problem #1 It is slowest thing on the web. It can take up to 30 minutes during peak imes in Thailand to finish a serach.No problem for me s I have multiple computers and can afford to have one sitting there waiting for search results.
Problem #2. The biggest issue is that it does not return posts only threads. Case in point, I wanted to look up the SONY ne model of cell phone coming out and I remmber reaing about it in the iPhone thread. The best results the f***ing Search engine can come up with is that it is in the iPhone thread. No shit, I was tray to save the time of having to look through 71 pages to find the info.
Now many other forums have a serach engine tht is both fast and can return the results as indivdual posts.
BK do you have any plans for a form software update in the future?

You get the time when the post is made,in the result so If the thread is 70-350 posts long you know where to look.

If you want a hard core site with cooked custom roms ect the go to this site http://forum.xda-developers.com
That does not mean the search function couldn't stand a bit of improvement on BTF.

I've gotta say, the old BKTF system is looking a bit old.
Not sure I want any cells involved but I also chat on another forum ( non P4P ) and its set-up looks quite nice, and also cheap. I do declare ( see a southern belles warm words) that forum runs phpbb software,, perhaps that is a compromise between what WE want and what BK can afford.

Is there a way to limit the search to a date range?
I think I remember having read long ago somewhere about it.
Say I remember that last week someone mentioned X (any common name in Thailand) and I want to look for that word, but limit it to the last 7 days or so?

Nope, I don't think so. I remember doing a search some time ago and it picked up posts as early as 2003.
