I am by no means an expert on websites/ forums. But I think it would be great to have a chat room so that we could chat online to each other.
Would this be a big hassel for BK? If so, diregard my suggestion. I am sure he has a full plate the way it is.

Thought about this feature a long time ago. I found one software which I thought was perfect, however it cost mucho $$$ (and I mean US$), so unless someone is willing to pay for that, I am don't see how I can afford to add that feature.

Krypto - I hear you and many times I wish I had the same thing when I see others that I would like to chat with in real time on line also.
But, as BK says, doing so ain't cheap! And, I have seen boards that do it but it ends up that the chat ability doesn't get used that much, I'll go to the chat room and no one will be there and people will start posting complaints as to why no one is ever in the chat room.
For me, the ability to post as well as the PM function are sufficent. Could you explain why you would like a Chat feature and how you think it would enhance what is already available? There may be members here who are willing to donate the money to support it but so far, I don't see any real need for it.

Great idea.
But ..... sorry to say this, but why would BK want to expand this site to include chat??
Besides the cost, I don't see a great benefit. The members who I've become friends with and want to chat with we do it using one of the free programs I outlined above. İThere is no cost or liability to BK or this site.
IMO: I just see this as just another feature that BK will have to regulate. And what's next. Then some other member will want to keep İan archive of the chat and then change the colors or the text and be able to do this and that??
Good idea, but one that I don't think should be implemented.
Infact, I'm chatting with a member at the moment on yahoo as I write this post!!

I agree with ABC. It will just mean that much more work for BK and as boomarang said, more often than not, chat rooms hardly get used.
We have a PM function which can be used to exchange messages and as ABC said, if you find someone is on the same wavelength as you, you can choose to exchange your Yahoo or MSN or ICQ or whatever adresses. A much better option to my mind.

Okay sure, I agree. Just a spur of the moment thought that had no real intense thinking involved as to the work load and expense and how often it would get used. Yahoo, MSN, ICQ are probably a better choice.

No ways. No flaming. Like I stated above. Good idea. I think if the forum was making money, then it might make sense to implement. But .. given the time and monitoring it would take to have a chat, it might not be worth it.
Also, as you said. I think some members would abuse the chat and then be able to real time flame, instead of just posting. Which could lead to more aggression.

With the bros from the forum I have become friends with, I am usually using the messenger which is offered by BK as this feature has a fast reaction time. For messages that include pics I am communicating by email.
I do not need see the need to have a chat room on this homepage. There are many different chat rooms that are already existing and as said I think that the messenger is a very good option.
I have once pumped into a friend from the forum on bangkokchat.com where it is possible to chat via the private room. This might be a very good option for the bros who are into chatting.
Please remember that BK is so nice and offers the services of this homepage including the forum for free. I think we should think of this and respect this when making requests.
