As most posters have pointed out , what has really degraded this Forum is the animosity and the often acrimonious language used by some posters .
Why should we get provoked - why can't we be like the Thais . They never get provoked because a show of anger is a sign of weakness .
And since we are talking of the land of Buddhists - here's a short anecdote from the life of the Buddha . Once when someone insulted him one of his followers asked him " Master , why did you not retaliate ?" . The Buddha replied , "When you spit up at the Heavens nothing happens to the Heavens - the spit only falls back on your face ."

I agree this is an excellent post and am quite sure you express the sentiments of many members. We are ALL responsible for the collective content of this site, hopefully we can ALL work together to bring the forum back to what it was.

ABC .. agree 100%, seems some people with little idea of Thailand and its culture, but with big ego's, need to impose their ideas on the forum ... case of T I c a [ this is computer age ] - so whilst for the most part it is still an informative and entertaining forum, there are always going to be those who spoil things, - however at least those type, [ fortunately a small minority] can not hide behind their screen at RT meetings, perhaps the time will come when the best stories have to be saved for there !

Gentlemen Bros.
I class myself as a newbie, and as BK will confirm, the oldest bros, on this forum.
Been to Thailand about ten tmes but, always stayed at the Idra regent,and as always had someone with me ,until last year when I was Alone .
Sacre bleu, I hear you say.
Then I found Bkktonight,I learnt so much in a short period, I could say was you lucky buggers.!!!!
I read and as time went on it changed ,people have used post as a means of making little remarks to try and get the point of view , ( there is no harm in this ),
but the word Sanook has gone and now we have debates on about everything, Bros lets get back to the time I started ,which wasnt so long ago.
The other thing is , if you dont like whats written swith off.
We new boys will learn from the input you give to this site and my wonderment that BK dos.nt gives up with some of the crap I I I read. I agree with you all.
sanook dont lets spoil what I believe is a wonderful site with a lovely selections of different types of people.
I would love to see us all in a room at the same time.
On second thoughts god help us.
I hope you see my point.as i agree with all posted.
Arive Feb 6th, would love to meet up for beer, with anyone who would like his grandad to tag olong.

hi Peterpan.
long time no hear from our favourite grandad.
a while ago i made a mention of a RT in London,but it was a throwawy line really.
however it seems people in the area are interested.
i know that Peterpan is not far away and of course is invited if we can sort something out.
even a friend from Europe is prepared to travel to the UK and meet up.
we all know it would not be the same as a RT in BKK, but just sitting in Chinatown and looking at the oriental girls would make us think of happy times.
but it might be fun for us to meet up and have a few beers.

Instead I wished him a good trip to BKK. Why? Am I that cool and nice? That's debatable but I suppose I didn't want to clutter this forum with more junk and junkies.

Dark Knight..... Member "Aroundtwon" posted about a TG blogging... I noticed on her website she is using a system to get contributions from people.... I looked at the website and think we should have this on our website to help defray costs..... look at http://www.chipin.com
You should set this up and we can all contribute on a constant basis... it would turn this site into a self supporting site by the members.
