Repeating the short instructions for getting into the IRC channel if you don't want to download an IRC client or can't connect beause of firewall or proxy issues.
Click here ---> http://searchirc.com/
Use searchword "bangkoktonight" and it should find the channel. If it finds more than one with the same name, we're the one on the WebChat network.
If you use a pop-up blocker, you need to disable it now or give permission for this page to use a pop-up.
Click on the channel name #bangkoktonight in the light blue bar at the top of the search results list. You can refuse the cookie it tries to set, it will still work.
(Don't click on the irc:// prefix! This will try to load an IRC client that you may or may not have, and may or may not want to use.)
After a few seconds, you'll get a Security Warning dialog box: "Do you want to install and run "jIRC applet"..."
You DO! Click Yes. (You need not tick the box for "Always allow..." though.)
After a few seconds (my 56K speed) you'll have a pop-up window and a java applet running in it, ready to connect you to the channel.
Supply a nickname -- use your board name for clarity, huh? -- and click Connect. You should be in the channel in just another few seconds. If not, select a different server from the drop-down menu and try again.
Type in the small box and hit "Enter" to send. It's just that easy.
When it's time to leave the channel, just close the pop-up window.

Try again, use a different server from the drop-down list.
If it fails again, paste -all- of the info from the big window into a new post here and I'll try to help get it sorted out.

the java applet tries to connect from your own pc to an irc-server... so if port 6667 is blocked due to a firewall it won't work... we need a client that actually runs on the server... so probably something html/php based...

just noted sauron had his own weserver, but he too did not want to connect.
might have something to do with the little white field and the red cross in it that I have on top left. something obviously didn't open.
