Are stickies possible? I notice you don't use them, but there's one BT forum thread where a sticky might be very useful to head off a lot of silly arguments. I can expand my suggestion, but it only makes sense if stickies are a possibility.

I searched the forum for sticky threads and got a lot of hits, but not quite in the context for which I had hoped. I know BK knows what I'm talking about, but for others, sticky threads are read-only folders at the top of a thread which only the admin (or its designated rep) can post to or alter. The purpose is to post general information, sometimes includes a FAQ section.

My suggestion would be to create a sticky for the Eden Club thread"at the top of the Specialty Bars section. It would contain the same information as on the first page of the current Eden thread, perhaps in an updated and more reader-friendly form.
The sticky could be labeled"The Eden Club"with a subhead, "Read this before posting in the Eden Club thread.
Why is a sticky needed?
1) It's not intuitive to start reading a 62-page thread at page one, nor is likely any newcomer will slug through all 62 pages. Newbies therefore miss basic info on the Eden Club and the result is the same questions posted again and again. In the Eden archive thread, a post dated Oct.20, 2003 advised punters to show up at Eden at 12.45 p.m. for the best choice of ladies. That same advice was posted a few days ago and probably dozens of times in the intervening 3 1/2 years. But because
the information is buried in pages and pages of back-and-forth banter, it's very easy to miss.
2) The constant repetition of the same few questions provides convenient opportunities for trolls and other ill-intentioned individuals. They answer legimate questions with disinformation, which provokes a response from the Eden fans and a flame war is under way. If newcomers have most questions answered in the sticky, the trolls won't have so many opportunities to say they are "just offering their opinion."
In short, a sticky would be an easy way of reducing the total volume of posts in the Eden thread, as well as limiting the opportunities for flaming.
