I have looked and not seen any thread on this, but the quote function has not been working properly for some time. It puts in the correct poster and HTML language items, but the actual text is missing. It used to work, but now appears broken.

This is not a problem, call it a feature now.
A lot of silly users would quote entire messages, and just add a one line reply, making the entire thread difficult to read. So, what I have done is disable that original feature, since most users are too lazy to delete off what is unrequired. Till I can find a better way to solve this, this will have to stay.

I thought it strange that my messages did not quote the original text, but that others did. I thought it may be my PC.
It we have to cut and paste the original text anyway, why not simply disable the quote feature completely?
Or limit the quote to the first 5 lines?

That's an interesting idea... but if I used that feature, I wouldn't have been able to quote this would I? anyway, till I find a better solution, I will leave it as it is. Just know that it doesn't work as it should, that's all.

I like it just fine the way it is, cause I just copy out of the previous bloke's post what I want to use, and the Quote function will give me the time and his name, etc.

I agree with LY. I can just cut'n'paste the part I want into the quote. And I don't have to type the bloke's name or the HTML. Leave it as it is.

No one in particular, just those who have done before. They know who they are. No need to name names... 
Actually, I was thinking about this, yeah, while waiting for some TGs to show up. Perhaps it is possible to limit the quote to just 255 characters from any quoted post, that way we can reduce the clutter. I think a simple modification can be done to accommodate that.

First one that actually got me angry on BKTF, but time experience and wonderment, combined with scientific curiousity at certain peoples thought patterns has made me temper the anger and enjoy the ride that is BKTF.
