Please excuse my Tec ignorance here BK...but I might need baby steps. Ok I select a photo then what? Send it to a photo send place? I am really none the wiser..... My point is photos as a regular and popular aspect here.....would make the sight more attractive. Even yourself and senior long time residents could throw up pics of things of interest. I am sure though it might seem mundane to you guys to the ones working in the west it's a great cheer up and encouragement to us to cheerish the place we sometimes enjoy. And it Definately makes you want to return. ::

Well, there is no real way to upload a photo here, and though there is an image tag on the board, I had purposely disabled it a long time ago, as I didn't want users unwittingly or wittingly posting extremely large photos which would message up the pages. There is no facility on this forum software to upload images, so you will have to send it to me directly and I will upload it to the server and link to it, or just copy and paste a link to any image that you have on the net, the example above was taken from a facebook page. For example, you could get a page like this: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151406647963878&set=a.299426613877.147482.177977948877&type=1&theater To get the image's URL, just right-click on it and open a New Window / Tab, and you should see the URL. And that's the photo. http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/181036_10151406647963878_268288828_n.jpg

DG, There are a number of steps that BK and the good doctor are merging into one because they are experienced in doing these things. First, let's pick a very simple example. The image/picture you want to share is already somewhere on the Internet. Let's say you were wandering around the internet and came to this page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lightaffaire/8579620391/sizes/l/in/photostream/ You want to just share the picture itself. You need to get the URL of the picture. The way you do this depends on the browser you are using. Put your mouse somewhere on the picture. With Firefox Right-Click and select "Copy Image Location". You can now PASTE the URL you just copied to whereever just like any other text that you have copied in the past: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8102/8579620391_7330ce1c65_b.jpg Other browsers have slightly different ways of getting the URL. If you tell us what browser you are using (e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Opera) and what Operating System you are using (e.g., Windows, iOS, Android) we can probably offer more specific help. BTW - There are ways for the original poster or the web site to prevent you from getting the URL. I am ignoring this case. At this point, you would post to the BTF forum like you always do and just paste this URL into your comments. Because the text starts with "http://" the posting software will automatically make it a hyperlink for you (which is very nice - otherwise you would have to learn a bit about HTML (or, in this forum's specific case, IKonCode) in order to make it work right). Voila! Done!! Now, if you want to share a picture that you have and is not currently on the Internet, things are slightly more complicated. You have to store that picture somewhere on the Internet. BK referenced Flickr and Facebook. The doctor suggested dropbox. There are many, many free services that allow you to post stuff on the Internet. You have to create an account with whatever service you selected and then store the picture into that service. For example, with dropbox, you would 1) create and setup an account going to http://www.dropbox.com, and 2) store the picture in the Public folder. Dropbox has a special way of providing you the URL to post. Go to your Public folder and Right-Click the picture you have stored. One of the options will be "Dropbox", select that and a sub-menu appears. Select "Copy public link" and you now have the URL that you can PASTE. I copied the picture above to my dropbox and then used the method described above to get the URL: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/54333603/Examples/8579620391_7330ce1c65_b.jpg With Flickr or Facebook you would create an account and then use their special mechanism to store your picture. Once you have done that you can use the method first described to get the URL. If you get stuck I'm sure that one of the members on the forum can help you.
