I don't like this bar, so there, na na na na n. To cap it all you've got to WALK, yes WALK up some STAIRS and all that after you've just WALKED yes WALKED up some STAIRS to get to the bottom of the STAIRS you've got to WALK up to get you into the place? When I've WALKED up the first lot of STAIRS I normaly stop and set up a sort of mid way base camp. I can sometimes be seen here for 2 maybe 3 days, just getting ready for the final slog up those STAIRS. I've managed to complete the trip on 3 occasions, twice I'm afraid I had to admit defeat half way up the second set of STAIRS and return to the mid way base camp, and then I'm afraid to say after a days rest at "mid way" back down to ground level.

Well, I don't like Mandarin either.
No problem with the upstairs trecking - it's quite exciting making this journey to who-knows what?
Actually, I rather like this bar's layout (I'll give points to anything which makes an effort to get away from bog-standard go go). And the girls - many of them - are certainly easy enough on the eye.
But I've always found them SO aggressive - at least, the ones which have hit on me have been. This is the way Patpong's supposed to be (but often actually isn't once they've got you taped as an expat).
I don't want to be ignored in a bar. On the other hand, I'd like a few minutes by myself to look around, see who looks promising, try to make eye contact, and so on. I get pissed off by girls demanding LDs the moment I walk in. I get pissed off by girls pressuring me to 'pay bar' after I've been sitting with them all of 1 minute. I get pissed off by girls interrupting and trying to cadge LDs when I'm with someone else.
For all these reasons, I get pissed off with Mandarin. Pity - if it was more relaxed, I think I'd really like it.

I think the mandarin is a pretty cool place! Don't mind the walk up the stairs. most of the time the escalator is working so that gets me hyped up for the walk. They do have some cuties working in there, but got to admit have seen a couple that were questionable, as far as thier age goes.
Oh I did not know they had moved the mandarin to patpong!

Mandarin is not that bad. However, the two cuties I was looking for where not there for almost a week or so....I am talking about No. 111 and No. 43. Tried No. 43 once and was a blast that little devil....but No. 111 dissapeared....shit! ....or maybe is cos I am going too late????

How you guys remember the numbers amazes me; I don't think you're pulling your weight in the drinking category. That kind of competition is unfair and I'm taking it to the rules committee.
I didn't find the girls too aggressive at Mandarin, if anything it was the opposite. I had to work a little to get the girls I wanted to come over. The first night I made the mistake of sitting in the back on the ground floor and it was way too dark; I would have had to wave my hands frantically in the air if I wanted to buy a girl a drink. I've only been there after midnight, so maybe it mellows a bit later (or maybe I'm just ugly).
I do find the underage looking girls a huge turnoff. Maybe it's not fair to them if they really are 18, but their appearance is disturbing enough for me to change bars or at least change locations in the bar.
