yeah, Bamboo Bar is right across from Grace Hotel, not Rajah hotel which is on soi 4.
And yes, the clientele has definitely changed dramatically. I think it looks more like 5% farang and 35% Thai (girls included) and 60% Middle Eastern.

I guess he means Bamboo Bar opposite the Grace Hotel.
Given it's location it was just meant to be overrun by a mainly arabic clientele (male customers I mean).
There where considerably less Arabians in that Bar some years back.
Latest addition is the kebabstand next to the pizza handout.

My last vist shocked the hell out of me,, this whole soi has been over-run by the camel people. I once quite enjoyed the Bamboo bar for a few quiet drinks and games of pool before heading across to Morning / night and onwards. Now even the street vendors selling clothes etc there are Camel lovers,,,, The one positive from this is a decent feed of Homous, Tabouli and Lebanese bread can be had,,,,, a few of the only good things to ever come from the Arab nations.

I cannot help to reply on this one. The Aussies to the best of my knowledge are the biggest camel exporters in this world.
This was also a surprise to me when I learned this fact.

Sorry to hear that the Bamboo Bar went that way. It used to be a good place to take cover when the rif-raff overflowed from the Grace.
Of course, many years ago the Grace was the "Rick's" bar of BKK until it was overrun by Arabs and Russian Mafia.
It is like a virus or a disease that starts in one location and spreads throughout the body.
Ye Gads! Could this spread out of the confines of the Soi and infect NANA, or maybe SUK?
Is there a cure or should we consider radical surgery to remove the infection?
Maybe a small (clean) tactical nuclear weapon centered on the Grace Hotel would do the job.
Maybe this is a mission for the 'Z' to undertake!!!
What do you say EP? Are you up to joining me on this 'holy mission'....

I spent many night in the grace hotel area and never had any troubles at all, everyone was nice and cool with me.
Cant say the same of the drunken Hippies in Kao san road or the very very drunk germans who attacked me in pattaya...

First, if you cannot recognize a 'tongue in cheek' post you are obviously taking this forum far too seriously.
Secondly if you read the post I said nothing racist or vulgar about Arabs or Russian Mafia (Hell my Grandmother was Sicilian Mafia).
I, like brother EP, have been to the Grace and the ambiance of the place (as well as the service and upkeep) has degraded significantly in the last several years. Is it a coincidence that this corresponds to the current clientele base being of 'questionable' background or is it the nature of the trade?
I myself do not believe in coincidences and suggest that the nature of the clientele determines the quality of the venue.
Of course maybe my standards are much higher than yours, not that that surprises me...
BTW: Your comment should read 'shows you are..' not 'show you are..' A spell/grammar checker might help you here...
