I think I have a problem.
As a lot of you know my girl lives with me, has for a number of years, and I only go out to play when she's out of town. Along with that I have some other set rules, among them that I always wait until she's all the way to the village, I never see the same girl twice, and I never, ever pull a girl in Bangkok confining myself instead to MPs.
Well, tonight I broke the first two rules and the I've been contemplating breaking the last. Breaking the first two tonight nearly bit me in the ass -- I wasn't where she expected me to be according to what I told her when I dropped her off at the bus station. I had to do some very fast talking on the phone and fortunately I had the cover story already in mind to explain two hours of missing time.
That's details, but what really worries me is the bigger picture. I feel like something's up with me and I don't know what it is. Am I actively seeking to harm myself by inserting unexplainable anomalies into the program?
I'm normally so very careful, and the way I did things tonight is out of character. And dangerous. And stupid.
f*ck, f*ck, f*ck! I lucked out this time, she didn't catch me unprepared and she didn't get any information from the bamboo internet. I know from her tone of voice that my cover story went over okay (bumped into a friend and went for a beer) and yet I'm still replaying her "It's okay, I trust you" in my mind, judging and analyzing it, looking for the slightest... Bah!!
Am I about to fly this relationship right into the side of pussy mountain?
Am I losing my edge? Have I lost the capacity for reasoned judgment, the ability to assess and manage risk? Can I trust myself anymore?
Is it time to call it a day, hang up my spurs and get out of the game for good?
f*ck but I hate this kind of navel-gazing, but I'm really getting the shakes thinking about just how close I came to really screwing up. Next time it could be far worse. Maybe this was just a one-off bad call on my part, I'd hate to think it's a trend.

Woke up today two hours earlier than normal, in a cold sweat, worried that the phone had rung and I didn't hear it.

I'm losing it.
Okay, I'm just going to make a point of eating well today, go out for a walk, and think happy thoughts. We'll see if that helps.

Presumably your girlfriend is Thai?
If so, it will come as no great surprise to her if you start wandering. After all, that's what men do. TGs are brought up to know this as a unfortunate fact of life which simply has to be accommodated. OK, your man may not wander immediately in the first flush of enthusiasm, but sooner or later...
Only you can know if you have a serious case of itchy feet. If you have, you will go on doing this and she will know. I think they always do, and it has nothing to do with 'evidence'. She will then have to come to terms with this new (but not unexpected) situation and decide how much leeway she's prepared to grant you.
I think many of us have been through this transition. It's not easy, because openly talking things through is usually out of the question. You will still have to be discreet, of course, but just how discreet is something I think you can only find out through trial and error. As and when you overstep the mark, you will know all about it, so the learning process is far from a laugh a minute.
Eventually, if she's a true TG, and you're a good learner, you should arrive at an unspoken 'arrangement'. You will need to give her sufficient space to deploy classic Thai doublethink - ie, knowing but also not-knowing what you're up to - and it goes without saying that she must never lose face.
OK, there's many a slip between cup and lip. Fumble the ball too often, and you could easily fly your relationship into pussy mountain (mega mixed metaphors!). But this ought to be do-able unless your TGF is a farang in disguise.
