I'm professionally involved in the development of vaccines for HIV/AIDS. Even though it will still take a couple of years until efficient vaccines are available I'm just curious about your reaction. Now my question: If you will get a vaccine against HIV with a proven efficiency of let's say 85% will you still use a condom? And if so are you actually interested in such a vaccine if you still feel you need a condom anyways. The vaccine will just statistically reduce your risk by 85% when you enjoy barebacking. Of course over a whole population a reduction of 85% will be very significant...but how does it look for you as an individual?

I personally would still use a condom. This vaccine does not help you with the likes of Herpes, Cifilus (sp?), Gohnorhea (sp?) and the likes.
I would sure hate to take one of those to my wife.

Sorry, I meant to imply that I would still get the vaccine for sure. Condoms break, and things happen. Never hurts to be safe.
Better safe than sorry.
If a car has an airbag, would you still wear your seat belt? Same type of situation.

People go bareback all the time now with 0 % protection againest HIV 85 % is almost like no risk compared to 0. Just wish they come up with a Condom that makes sex Better then going bareback then everyone would use it LOL

Jimaz, you are right about BBBJ...who doesn't love them? Well, they are not zero risk, but very close to zero risk...and with the vaccine they will be even closer to zero...and much much safer than a motorcycle taxi in Bangkok
