BK has created BKKtonite, as well as the forum, as a resource for those looking for information on LOS and BKK - at the same, it's also intended as a source of income for BK.
Please, correct me if I have any of this wrong.
So, now BK placed a restriction on access to the forum:
- unregistered users can not browse and read the forum.
- registration for new users is disabled.
So, unless you're already on the system, you really can't read the forum, and you're pretty much deprived of what's probably the best resource BKKtonight has to offer.
Doesn't this adversely affect BK's (potential) bottom line?
All because of a few dorks, that have both caused BK to invest a lot of effort to try to contain them, as well as have now caused hassles to regular forum members (which might have been their intent) as well lowered the value of the forum and the site.
Have I got this right so far?
I'm cnfused that this has been allowed to go as far as it has -- I mean, I'm sure BK has got his good reasons, but it's nevertheless a confusing state of affairs.

I don't know about any of that, but it looks to me very much like some script kiddie who doesn't know what they're doing has been playing with scripts they shouldn't have. I'm a member and I keep having problems logging in and being logged out randomly. And messages about OLRs are quite annoying when one isn't using one (and quite easy to avoid).
Will normal service be resumed anytime soon?
(And if someone is using this site as a revenue stream I'd imagine that the same script-fiddling is screwing up their log files--not a terribly good idea if money is at stake!)

I think you guys are getting it wrong. BK is not using this to make money.
This is a hobby for him. Thus we are guests in the place where if we want to be, we have to play by his rules.
He won't mind if some guys don't like it.
Afterall he who pays the band can choose the tunes the band plays; not the guests.
Sometimes a good party with less (good) people is more fun that an open house party full of jerks.

Gotta agree - thanks for clearing that up. In that light, it makes more sense, though it's a pity that the forum as a resource is now restricted - but I can understand that reasoning...

I have benefited incredibly from this site, just had an amazing seafood dinner because of BTF recommendation - had an incredible massage due to this sites recommendation - unbelievable BJ due to this sites recommendations -shall I go on?????

I've no idea if anyone is making money out of this site, nor do I mind if they are. If BK runs it as a hobby, then 'Thanks BK, you're doing a great job. It's a great site.'
It's quite fun, quite useful and every now and then I can be a bit of a smart arse in 'Thai Trivia'. I've read the whole thread about the email/charity thing. I'm quite happy to play by BK's rules--if it's his site, he can do what he wants with it. All I want to do is be able to log on, not get booted and carry on enjoying the forums.
