Come on out ta Phoenix Arizona USA for little summer kewl temps at 110F for 4 months. Its a dry heat though, where the blacktop radiates heat waves before you salty eyes. Where to left hot water side of the tap is colder than the incoming street water. Where people gladly will fight over shade.

The temperature on the Arabian Gulf has been nearing 120f and the humidity has been hovering around 90% the past week. It does cool off to 110f after dark though.
The difference is you and I are well air-conditioned and all those folks in Europe are not. Ain't any fun there now.

Sorry Expatchuck... I felt one portion of your post needed to be highlighted....
The difference is you and I are well air-conditioned and all those folks in Europe are not. Ain't any fun there now.
All the shops have even sold out of those ceiling fans and those fans to put on your desk etc. It's bloody unbearable. I tried to buy an extra tray to make extra ice cubes... those have sold out too. All the lakes and rivers have gotten so warm, blue algae (which is very dangerous to the health) has grown in them, so we can't swim. Traffic jams MILES long to and from the beach... when you finally get there, no parking spaces whatsoever....
I could go on (& on & on), lol, but I think you get the general picture.

i'm slighty luckier where i am X.
my office is 8 feet from the outside world and i'm often nipping out for a breath of air and there is also a nice sea breeze most of the time.
have a wonderful fan in my office and am currently sitting in my home with another BIG fan blowing cool air all over me.
living on the coast always makes me shake my head.
while i understand people driving 70 miles to visit the beach,a treat for the kids etc,i am always amazed at their surprise that the world and his wife have the same idea.
the interviews of them on the TV at the back of a 15 mile tailback saying "i would never of thought the roads would be busy on a day like this' are so......
