I am sure we all know that but changing over quickly from amused or shocked reader to a detective scooping evidence is not so easy.
Edit is a right of each member, but maybe should not be allowed after another member has followed with a post of his own. And if you want to check spelling and grammer (shudder) you can always preview your post.

Some forums support editing a post for only a moderate amount of time (e.g. up to an hour) to allow for spelling corrections, formatting errors and the like.
There are some cases where it is reasonable to go back and edit a post days or months after (e.g. if some information was leaked that shouldn't have been, or if a person realizes they were an asshole and wants to not cause future enmity).
But overall, I don't think this is a big issue. There are no winners and losers here, it is just a pointless (although sometimes entertaining) exercise to try to pin people down on the idiotic and contradictory statements they make. Over time people pick up on who the gross offenders are.

Well I think the editing feature should be left in. Poor LY makes enough of an ass of himself as it is, without not having the oppurtunity to change what he says on mature reflection.
Bet he spends half his life wishing he had said something funnier, or more cutting in an arguement - well this gives him a chance to live that dream - this and of course 500 baht and a skank who is good to go for 500
