Yo Compy, Best of luck to you. I hope the reality of having her live here with you turns out to be as wonderful as you imagine it will be. The fact that vacation relationships are easy and real life relationships are much harder what with work and dealing with problems etc made me give up on any such ideas for myself.
I guess if you do what you can to make her feel at home and comfortable that is the best you can do.
I think the relative cold (weather AND cultural attitude of Falangs vs SE Asians) will be a big adjustment for her.
Not meaning to be too cynical but... I would consider getting some legal advice on protecting your assets in the unlikely event of a crash landing.
I wish you the best of luck and hope you will keep us informed as this progresses.

I will plan to talk to my lawyer about a pre-nup agreement. I do plan to be careful Cyborg, will see what happens. I just read Thailan Fever and plan to give it to her when I visit her family next month.

For me it is another 12 months until I can stay with my girl for good. (but I am going in the other direction to LOS)
Cyborg, I am well aware of what you are saying.
I am going through a 4 year distance relationship now and I think this kind of relationship has it's special problems that will test your partnership as tough as day-to day life does.

The papers came today, but I was at work. I'll pick them up after work Tuesday, and then drop them of at the Immigration Lawyer’s office Wednesday.
I’m getting my immunization shots tomorrow morning before work, since I will be traveling to a rural area for the first time.
It is now just a bit over 10 days now until I fly. I dream about my little Lao girl every night, and call her every morning as soon as I wake. She calls me when she is happy or sad, and tells me about her dreams. I love the sound of her voice and her laughter brings joy to my soul just as her tears bring it sorrow. I miss the taste of her lips, the sweet scent of her body, and the touch of her silken skin. She is my addiction.
