The market cannot be ruined by a few.
The market is right. And the market is made up of all those offering and all those demanding a product or a service. All together determine the market.
The market can be ruined FOR (not by) a few who find themselves out of it because they cannot buy or sell their product/service at the prevailing price.
It is that simple.
This is nothing new. It was brilliantly explained long ago by Adam Smith. Remember the invisible hand?
And we see markets working every day every where. Of course, sometimes external factors (like government regulations) introduce imperfections in the market that benefit/hurt some. All the time, the benefits to some due to external artificial factors amount to less than the losses of others, and as a consequence in pure economic (I am not talking social benefits) terms such playing with the market does not bring aggregate gains to the group as a whole.
Coming to our own issue here... the p4p market can not be "ruined" because some guys pay more than others. That is the market itself beautifully working.
LY. your luck is my luck. You help driving some prices low (unskilled labor), so that I have more left to spend in other things I like more -and this, helps the economy. Thanks LY.
