My 3 tsang worth (it used to be two tsang but prices are going up) :
I don't believe the money given to BG, FL, et al is being diven up by a few people from BTF. In another thread, much was discussed about the changes among the working girls in Thailand. Mobile phones and sms are everywhere. They talk more now and know more about everything than ever before. But I don't even think that is causing prices to go up.
I think local economics is the driver.
Now they all need a mobile and that means paying for the handset but more importantly, the talk time. They didn't count that as part of the budget before.
Rents are going back up, even in tiny one room flats that they all occupy somewhere. for example, for a long time, many girls working at Suzie Wong used to live upstairs there. Not anymore.
It is just inevitable that the girls, with a stronger economy, more horndogs (local & visitors) roaming the streets looking for their services, and super ability to disperse information among themselves, demand/command that prices would and should go up.
Tips from one customer will vary. Mileage may be differrent with driving conditions and always use a seat belt.

And this statement shows your lack of knowledge of Thai society....believe me, there is nothing more disgusting than the rich Thai assholes!
Western rich people usually don't make the reason of their lifes to push down common guys, always underlining their wealth...but Thais they do it as the driving force of their existance!
I do HATE with all my feelings 99% of rich Thais for being such jerks and looking down their own people!
And talking about the girls.....you won't reach a real stunner cuz they are all under the protection of a rich Thai who's paying them a real fortune!
I can't imagine Smeggy or Griffin buying a 10 milion baht luxury condo and a brand new MB SL 500 for their candies.....Thais do it!

I had lunch with some of my Thai mates who work near Nana today and they say that those rich Chinese Thais are just trying to one-up the tourists at that game...

ll has come down a lot since hog bought it. I really liked the old "cheap charlie" style, with the harley-thai making music and the bitchy thai women running it.
always wanted to own that place, not anymore.
just noticed, that I spent around 10 million baht in R&R so far all over asia. guess it came cheaper than a wife and two kids.
so, that would make me a cheap charlie, too.
I understand your point yocul, maybe it is not what you said, but how you said it.
and I think it is pointless to compare apples and oranges (e.g. brisbane and bangkok).
