In all fairness to Krypto, but regarding everyone jumping in there to 'correct' him that 'Hitler was Austrian' - but Krypto clearly stated '...'a certain German *ruler*...' Hitler may have been born in Austria, and was Austrian, but he most certainly rose to power and ruled in Germany - hence, Krypto is most certainly correct in his statement, albeit not his allegation.
Regarding your concerns, I generally believe that people do a damn good job at censoring themselves, i.e. dumb people, posting dumb things, knowing how the system works, *should* end up creating their own filters, and eliminate themselves from visibility.
It's not only ironic, it's also functional. I really don't give a cruft about feigned concerns over censorship, considering that in another tread we are quick to be told that this BTF not a democracy.
That's right - and while a great resource, BK is also trying to manage this as a resource to help earn him an income - and as a resource for BKK travellers, it certainly lessens its own value if the signal to noise value is out of whack. I believe that was a partial reason for the draconian and harsh re-editing and re-aligning of the board during the 'reign of the moderators' - and while I may not have been 100% happy with some of those changes, I fully understood why they were made.
In retrospect of the reasons behind the earlier purge, I think the people now deliberately continuing to disrupt BTF are showing great disrespect to BK, as well as his work, and the time he spends on trying to maintain BTF.
From that perspective, a default 'ignore' function would serve the purpose, especially if it adjusts itself based on who is ignored by the majority of the users (which would make that function strangely democratic).
Not that you give a flying fart about my rationale, but here it is
